Is date paste and date syrup the same thing?

Doubts April 2, 2024 By Harry
date paste vs date syrup

Date paste is thick, made by blending whole dates with water, retaining fiber and nutrients. It resembles a spreadable caramel sauce. Date syrup is thinner, made by cooking dates with water and straining to remove solids, resulting in a smoother texture but less fiber. It’s more concentrated in sugar and lacks the pulp of dates. Both serve as sweeteners but differ in consistency and composition.
